I am unabashedly addicted to this series. Phedre is one of the most intricate, and passionate characters I have encountered in a novel. If you like this series I would like to recommend a novel which I believe you will enjoy. This is an older novel and can be found here:

http://www.amazon.com/Maia-Richard-Adams/dp/0451140354

A rich story which is amazing and no less encompassing than Phedre's tale.

The book is entitled: Maia; and it was written by Richard Adams (yep-the guy who wrote Watership down). I was amazed at how he connected with this female heroine, and the story is one in which sleep is a worthy sacrifice to finish the next chapter.

I _love_ Jennifer Crusie, and Don't Look Down was great, but Agnes in the Hitman was even better--loved it!!! Now I'm making my way through all of her other books.
